At the highest level, health and safety is our key responsibility. That’s why we are committed to working incident and injury free.

But at the Bistivack Group we approach health and safety differently. Some might say, more creatively. This forms the core of our strategic approach to the responsibilities of keeping everyone who interacts with our business safe. We operate strong lines of personal communication and a culture of openness, encouraging life-long learning and professional development at every level. By engaging our workforce in the key behavioural requirements of working safely we reinforce zero harm philosophy. Rest assured we have a mature behavioural change approach to health and safety, which works alongside excellent systems and processes. Our Safety Management System is continually reviewed and improved and it is OHSAS 18001, CHAS and Achilles Rail ‘Link-up’ accredited.

Supply chain partner assessment and grading is fully integrated into our Safety Management System and continually monitored to ensure our exacting standards are maintained throughout our supply chain. We ensure the competency of our people at all levels, providing access to the best available external vocational training, as well as supporting our internal values using our own training team to underpin our culture and philosophy. The Bistivack Group also successfully designed and developed a SCORM-accredited online testing system underpinning worker knowledge to ensure their ‘knowledge fitness’ prior to commencing work on our high risk projects.

We pride ourselves in our excellent managed health strategy, covering a range of services for our staff and workforce. Our people have access to a company GP and undertake safety critical and health screening medicals, ensuring the fitness of our workforce.

If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.
